Ripples extend from a dog exploring the clear lake. The sun glints off the blue-green surface, and your feet dig into the sand as you watch from shore. Across the lake, the trees are bare, but soon there will be leaves and spring flowers.

I was never into fishing… but I was always jealous of the fly fishers who got to just stand in the river all day long… When I took up tai chi as a daily practice, my favorite place to do my forms was standing in a river or lake.
My favorite spot here would be in the Spring (although the Autumn colours must be magnificent too), specifically for all the birds that must nestle in the trees across from the lake. ^_^
I remember going fishing in many lakes and rivers when I was younger. Anywhere I’d go with my family, I would always stuff my pockets with rocks. I still love collecting rocks.
This has me eyeing my kayak longingly. The PNW winters are long, wet, and dark. Ready to get back out there!
That pupper is just having the best time and I love it. 🙂
Many of my happiest memories are on the water’s edge, or wading into sun warmed shallows and letting myself and my worries float.
Ah ha! I figured out my first riddle from the writing woods. Awesome! There’s a lake on our property. Don’t go out by boat much, yet I enjoy walking down the hill and enjoying the view. Very calming.
