Editing from Victoria Griffin

victoria griffin book editor

I’m Victoria Griffin, the creator of the writing woods. My mission has always been to help writers tell stronger, more meaningful stories and to feel grounded and confident in their craft. That mission drives everything I create—including this community and the writing woods podcast—and grows directly from my decade as a professional book editor.

As both an editor and a writer, I understand how it feels to hand over your work. My editing style is honest, positive, and deeply intentional. I won’t sugarcoat feedback, but I also won’t hide my excitement over an incredible line or moment.

I specialize in developmental editing and manuscript critiques, and I also adore line editing. I work with most fiction genres, along with memoir.

I’m honored to get to work with stories for a living and grateful for every author who has trusted me with their work. If you’d like to discuss whether I’m the right editor for your manuscript, get in touch. Until then, I’ll see you around the woods.

“Writing for me is extremely personal… It’s scary to hand it over to someone you’ve never met. It requires a lot of trust, and Victoria is worth every drop.”

KL Watkins

“Victoria’s editorial comments not only improved my manuscript, they opened my mind to new plot and story possibilities. Any writer looking for quality editing with honest feedback should look no further than Victoria Griffin.”

Tanya E. Williams

“A writing career is important enough to seek and secure professional help in order to keep moving forward. I only wish I had sought the services of Victoria Griffin much earlier!”
